I really need to update more often….

I think this is one of the cooler restaurant signs. Even though it kind of looks like Darth Maul. This restaurant is on Town Square. I've never eaten there. July 26.

Taking photos of lights in the dark is cool. This lamp is in my parents' backyard. July 27.

A statue looks over the customers at Pho Kim Long (yes, that is the real name) in ChinaTown. Pho is awesome, for those of you who have never tried it. I highly recommend it!

Julia sits on my computer. She's spending the night for a few days while her room is remodeled. Now she has her own laptop to play with, so maybe she'll stay off mine!

365-Day Project: July 14-20

OK, it’s been a while again since I’ve updated.

I’ve been feeling kind of down about my photos lately. I just feel like it’s getting harder to find interesting photos, especially if I have to take something at home.

I'm a little bummed at how blurry this is, but here's Maddy jumping higher than Jane's head while Anne watches on July 16. Maddy is 75 pounds, and she's still technically a puppy! She's almost twice Pepper's size.

This is definitely dog week. Iggy, Pepper's boyfriend, gives Kerri a kiss on July 17.

Samantha sits behind the curtain by the back door. I know this is similar to one last week, but she just looked so elegant. July 18.

A candlelit, happy hour dinner at sushi after "Harry Potter 6." I love happy hour at Kobe. It's half off the sushi menu. Very cheap, and the best sushi I've ever had.

365-Day Project: July 1-4 and a quick update

I haven’t taken the photo for today yet, but I want to get back in the habit of regularly updating this thing.

This is my first post from my new MacBook Pro. Yep, I’ve gotten a Mac, and it’s awesome so far. It’s not too much different for me to get used to since I use Macs at work, anyway. Robert says this computer is now the most powerful one we have in the house. It’s definitely much faster than my old Dell, which was about four years old. It runs Photoshop a lot faster, which is helpful for my photos.

This week, I also went to different classes at Las Vegas Athletic Club. I’m finding I like the classes a lot more than working out on my own. This week, I tried pilates, kickboxing, spinning (exercise bike), body pump (muscle toning), and body flow (a mixture of tai chi, pilates and yoga). I think I’d like to try zumba, which is dancing, but I’ll probably look like an idiot doing it. I’m not the most coordinated person in the world.

I think I’m meant to do yoga. I’m extremely flexible around my limbs, and I can mostly accomplish the flexibility exercises with ease. I really have to work on my form and strength, though, because I don’t really feel like I look graceful doing it.

I also signed up to take the LSAT in September. I don’t know 100 percent yet that I am going to law school, but I have definitely been thinking about it. I’m just not sure if I’m going to be able to go anywhere in my current career. I love it, but I can’t stay where I am forever, and more and more, I feel like it may end up that way if I don’t change something.

If I did go to law school, I would like to do some sort of legal writing, perhaps helping out other lawyers who aren’t as good at writing, or I would like to be a civil rights attorney. I still become really impassioned about civil rights violations.

Nothing is set in stone yet. That is the key thing. I’m just going to take the LSAT and apply to Boyd Law and see where it goes.

OK, enough updating. Back to photos.

David has made an appearance in the 365-Day Project! Yay! David and I went to Roma Deli before seeing "Easy Virtue," which was a pretty good independent movie. We were the only ones in the theater. Ha ha. I tried to take a photo of him sitting alone in the theater, but I didn't have my real camera with my, and my iPhone couldn't handle the lack of light. They just don't make 'em like they make SLRs.

This was a week for visiting friends. My friend Jonson was in town and took me, Robert and Jane to an authentic Chinese restaurant called KJ Kitchen. I really liked it, but I'm afraid Robert wasn't too fond of it. I think it was a little weird for him. The next thing I'd like to try is dim sum.

A lamp in my parents' backyard. They redesigned their backyard about a year ago, and it looks really nice now. Lots of desert landscaping.

Julia's boyfriend, Alex, shows his pyro side by playing with what he calls "Wolverine sparklers." His dad has a second job doing pyrotechnic-firework shows, so Alex knows a lot about fireworks.

We’re back from San Francisco, and back to being busy.

OK, so I’ve been back for a couple days now, but I haven’t gotten a chance to upload photos to my blog from the trip. They are coming, but probably not for a few days.

I know I’m behind in posting photos. I’m sorry! I have to edit them, and I have been so busy and stressed that I haven’t been able to. I’ll probably have some time this weekend, or maybe tonight… I’m not sure. But, I still plan on posting. And in June, I should be a little better at keeping it updated.

I found this thing in the track of the sliding glass door to my backyard this morning… I took this photo before I was able to finally coax him out into the yard with a piece of paper. I think these things are poisonous, and we found out this weekend that Samantha likes eating bugs, so I don’t want to take any chances.

Ew... centipede thing.

A study of hockey fans

This is my first blog post from my phone. We’ll see how this goes.

I’m sitting here at the Wranglers hockey game between periods. First of all, they won’t let you bring in cameras. Lame.

This is my fourth or so hockey game, and this sport never fails to amaze me. It’s very strange watching a game where ramming your body into an opposing team member with the intent to slam them into a wall is encouraged. A few minutes ago, I saw the entire team get into a fight. Really. And the crowd was cheering the whole time.

I have seen my completely sweet friends turn into frenzied fans. I’ll never forget seeing one of the sweetest people I know scream, “Kill him!” while pumping her fists in the air.

The announcer also encourages the fans to scream at the referees that they “suck.”

One of the weirdest things at these games to me is that when the home team scores, people with young kids lift them in the air above their heads as if offering up their first born to the hockey gods.

It probably doesn’t help that I never understand what is going on until someone scores a goal, but hockey is one of the strangest sports.

And there’s a heck of a lot of rednecks here. Ha ha.
