Laura! I didn't know you had a blog until I saw your post on FB this morning. I was reading your Back to the Future entry and then came across this one. How's the veggie thing going? As a lifelong veggie (adult life, that is), I'd love to hear about your experience and if you have any questions just shoot. Tofu can be weird at first but in my opinion much less weird than meat.

Laura - Speaking as a vegetarian of varying levels, just do what FEELS right. You'll learn to recognize the difference between TASTE cravings, and NUTRITIONAL cravings. Just as we can easily tell when we're generally "thirsty" or "hungry," the key is to hone your self-senses even sharper and know when your body needs specific things.

I applaud your efforts at renewal and revamping. Life is change. Without it, we die. Good luck!

I definitely will talk to a nutritionist if I do it, but it's not going to be permanent. I was already missing fish yesterday. Haha.

I think, however, I will start looking at more vegetarian meals. There's a lot of theories right now that we should eat meat during the day, but have no meat for dinner late in the day.

In the event that you become a full-time vegetarian, consult with a dietician (sp?) or nutritionist. My nutrition textbooks made a big deal that it's possible to get all of your nutrients/vitamins and be a vegetarian or vegan but that it's difficult to do it properly and requires some counseling...

Somehow, this comment will become controversial. Consider it possible.
